Cleaning that Coffeemaker

I know what everybody thinks about cleaning the coffeemaker. Just wash the pot with your other dishes. Easy. Yes, that is necessary, but what about the deep cleaning that needs to be done every month? Most people don't know about that. Every month your coffeemaker needs to go through a deep clean in order to clean out any built up residue and acid from the coffee. It's not too hard to do and it is very necessary. Here are the steps below to deep clean that coffeemaker:

1. Run a full pot of water through the coffeemaker.
2. Mix 1 cup of vinegar with half a pot of water in the coffeemaker.
3.Turn it on and when it has dripped through so that the bottom is barely covered turn it off.
4. Let it sit for 2 hours.
5. After 2 hours turn the coffeemaker on and let it finish running through.
6. Finish by running 2 full pots of water through the coffeemaker to get all of the vinegar out.

This is a good way to keep that coffeemaker clean and continue to have fresh coffee every morning! If you let that coffeemaker sit for months or even longer and never deep clean it then it builds up with residue and acid. That makes for a not so fresh cup of coffee that is way too acidic! Enjoy your fresh coffee!!
